Okay, that's it: I'm tired of the Texas bashing.

Thu Mar 17, 2005 at 11:26:37 AM PDT

As many of you know, there are a LOT of Kossacks from Texas. Some still live here, some don't, but we're here right alongside you, fighting for what we're all supposed to believe in.

The recent rash of diaries slamming the hell out of my home state have pissed me off.

Support the troops: what can *you* do?

Thu Jan 13, 2005 at 11:43:48 AM PDT

Happy Thursday, Kossians!

After posting some links to a few sites that support the troops in various ways, I got some e-mails from our friendly fellow Kos denizens asking for more information and some advice on how they could help. My family and I sponsor two companies in Iraq and send care packages when we can, or when they request something, and we've all gotten so much joy out of doing this that I'm hoping I can spread it to you and yours.

No one here at Kos supports the senseless war, but we do support the men and women that are over there fighting it, without question. The troops need our love and support, especially those who are fighting this war with the same view of it that we have. It's important for them to know that we love, respect, care for, and think about them every day. How can you do it, you ask? I'm here to show you!

News from Houston: Andrea Yates trial

Thu Jan 06, 2005 at 07:15:12 AM PDT

Good morning Kossacks -

This morning, a story is breaking here in Houston that has a lot of attention, and understandably so.

I'm sure many of you remember the Andrea Yates trial here - the case of the woman who drowned all 5 of her children while her husband was at work, and whose legal defense was 'She had postpartum depression and is mentally ill'. She was tried and convicted and sent to prison for life.

Well, that conviction has been overturned.

Keith Olbermann on Bev Harris

Fri Dec 03, 2004 at 08:45:23 AM PDT

Good day, all. I'm fairly new here at dKos - as a poster - although I've lurked for a while and have really enjoyed your insights, commentary, and ideas.
This is my very first diary entry, as I've finally found something worthwhile to post, in my mind.
I've been paying close attention to our friend Keith Olbermann and both his blog and `Countdown'. I discovered him, like many of you, when we began discussing him here regarding his election coverage.
I visit his blog daily, and yesterday, I came across an entry that I found extremely interesting.
